Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties such as taking vital signs, patient intake, and assisting with procedures including phlebotomy and X-ray imaging.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), documenting medical histories, treatment plans, and medication administration accurately.
- Support physicians with medical documentation, ICD coding, and maintaining organized medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist in medication administration under physician supervision and monitor patient responses during treatment.
- Conduct basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and respond effectively to emergency situations within the clinic or hospital environment.
- Coordinate with medical office management to ensure efficient scheduling, patient flow, and administrative support for outpatient or inpatient care settings.
- Maintain proficiency in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to provide informed patient care across diverse specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, or trauma centers.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care protocols, and emergency medicine practices.
- Proven experience with medical office management and administrative support functions within outpatient or hospital environments.
- Strong understanding of electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems and medical documentation standards.
- Competence in phlebotomy, X-ray procedures, medication administration, and vital signs measurement.
- Familiarity with ICD coding, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology fundamentals necessary for accurate patient assessment.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or PICU environments.
- Excellent patient service skills combined with compassionate communication to ensure positive patient experiences across diverse populations including geriatrics and surgical patients.
