Role Description The Instructor Nurse Aide is a contract, on-site role based in Cadillac, MI. The instructor will teach Nurse Aide coursework, including classroom lectures, skills demonstrations, and supervised clinical practice, following approved curricula and regulatory guidelines. Typical responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and instructional materials, delivering engaging and accessible instruction, evaluating student performance through tests and skills check-offs, and documenting progress and attendance accurately. The role also involves mentoring students, modeling professional and ethical behavior, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. The instructor collaborates with school leadership and clinical sites to align training with current standards of care and supports continuous improvement of program quality.
Qualifications
- Current RN nursing license in Michigan.
- Have at least 1 year experience working in long-term care nursing facility.
- Previous teaching, precepting, or clinical instruction experience, or strong interest in adult education.
- Ability to design and deliver clear, structured lessons and skills demonstrations aligned with state requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills to support diverse adult learners.
- Commitment to person-centered care, professional ethics, and a supportive, non-discriminatory classroom environment.
- Organizational skills for managing schedules, records, assessments, and compliance documentation.
- Basic computer skills for using learning management systems, email, and document preparation.
- Flexibility to teach day classes as they are scheduled for each month.
- Nurse Aide Train-the-trainer certificate is required.
