Join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Specimen Processor, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of laboratory specimens. As a Specimen Processor, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and managing specimens with precision and care, supporting clinical laboratory operations. Your expertise will help facilitate accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.
Duties
· Receive, label, and organize incoming specimens using proper laboratory management protocols.
· Perform specimen processing and ordering procedures for nail and wound PCR testing.
· Complete send out forms accurately and prepare specimens for send out testing to a reference laboratory.
· Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen handling.
· Ensure specimens are correctly documented with accurate medical terminology and relevant physiology or anatomy knowledge.
· Manage specimen storage conditions, monitor sample integrity, and document all handling activities meticulously.
· Collaborate with medical teams and laboratory staff to ensure proper specimen transfer and communication for purposes of accurate documentation.
· Adhere to clinic and laboratory safety standards and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in clinical or research laboratory settings with strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques.
· Familiarity with laboratory information management systems and medical terminology.
· Experience working in hospital or clinic environments is highly desirable.
· Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to follow complex protocols accurately.
