Job Summary
We’re a small, family-run automotive upholstery workshop looking for a skilled Upholstery Technician on a contract basis. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will help restore and customize vehicle interiors. You’ll work on seats, door panels, headliners, armrests, and other interior components, ensuring high-quality results for our clients.
Duties:
- Measure, cut, and sew upholstery materials to fit vehicle seats, door panels, headliners, and carpets.
- Remove old or damaged upholstery without damaging underlying structures.
- Install new upholstery materials with precision, ensuring tight seams and a clean finish.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble, disassemble, and modify interior components.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized, document work progress, and communicate effectively to meet deadlines.
Experience:
- Prior experience in automotive upholstery, manufacturing, or auto restoration is preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, staple guns) is essential.
- Experience operating sewing machines for upholstery work is required; knowledge of sewing techniques is a plus.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
