About the Role:
The Custom Applicator plays a crucial role in the agriculture industry by ensuring that crops receive the appropriate treatments for optimal growth and yield. This position involves the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides, which are essential for maintaining healthy crops and protecting them from pests and diseases. The Custom Applicator must be knowledgeable about various agricultural products and their proper usage to ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards. Additionally, this role requires the ability to operate and maintain specialized equipment used for application, ensuring efficiency and precision in the field. Ultimately, the Custom Applicator contributes significantly to the success of farming operations and the overall productivity of the agricultural sector.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and crop management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in pesticide application or related field.
- Experience operating agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Familiarity with local agricultural regulations and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain application equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides according to established guidelines and safety protocols.
- Monitor weather conditions and soil health to determine the optimal timing for applications.
- Maintain accurate records of applications, including product types, quantities, and locations.
- Communicate effectively with farmers and agricultural managers to understand their specific needs and provide recommendations.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of agricultural practices, which is essential for making informed decisions about crop treatments. Attention to detail is crucial when applying chemicals to ensure that the correct amounts are used and that safety protocols are followed. Communication skills are also important, as the Custom Applicator must interact with farmers to assess their needs and provide guidance. Monday -Friday 8a-4:30p; Weekends- Mandatory Overtime as needed seasonally.
