We are seeking a Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in ensuring efficient weekly routing, vendor pickup scheduling, and communication throughout our operation. Position: Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator
The Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating delivery routes, organizing vendor pickups, managing fleet and driver communication, and supporting smooth Warehouse and Customer Service operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, consistent follow-through, and a calm, solutions-oriented communication style.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch weekly delivery routes for K–12 schools.
- Organize vendor pickups and ensure alignment with purchase orders.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, warehouse staff, customer service, and vendors.
- Coordinate fleet needs, including fuel, maintenance, paperwork, and driver schedules.
- Prepare and distribute delivery paperwork and routing documentation.
- Use GPS tools, mapping software, and company systems for route optimization.
- Track deliveries and assist with real-time problem-solving if delays or issues occur.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with basic logistics data entry (Excel proficiency helpful).
- Support ongoing improvements in efficiency, communication, and team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dispatch, routing, logistics coordination, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Experience in food distribution or delivery scheduling a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills — calm, professional, and solutions-oriented.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Comfort with computer systems (TMS experience helpful but not required).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
