Account Manager - East Coast Territory

AG Lighting Innovations
North, SC Full Time
POSTED ON 9/4/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/2/2026
About AG Lighting Innovations

AG Lighting Innovations designs and manufactures rugged, high-performance LED lighting solutions specifically for commercial poultry and livestock environments. We work with growers, integrators, distributors, contractors, and agricultural partners across the country, providing lighting products and support designed around the realities of production agriculture. As AG Lighting enters its next stage of growth, we’re looking for the right person to help build our presence throughout the East Coast.

The Opportunity

The East Coast represents one of our most important growth opportunities. We’re looking for an East Coast Territory Account Manager who can become AG Lighting’s relationship leader throughout the region—someone comfortable walking poultry houses, visiting with growers, meeting with integrator leadership, supporting distributors, and developing opportunities over the long term. This is not a desk sales position. This is a remote/field-based role built around relationships, customer visits, territory development, problem-solving, and representing AG Lighting in the field.

Location & Travel

Because being present in the market is essential to this role, we’re looking for someone who preferably resides in North Carolina or another centrally located area that allows efficient travel throughout Delmarva, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Candidates should expect to be actively working in the territory approximately 2–3 weeks per month, with some weeks involving day trips and others requiring overnight travel. Travel will generally be approximately 50–70%, with 3–4 nights away from home common during active travel weeks.

What You’ll Own

Territory Development

  • Develop a strong and visible AG Lighting presence throughout the territory.
  • Identify new construction, retrofit, replacement, and upgrade opportunities.
  • Build new relationships while expanding existing distributor and integrator relationships.
  • Develop and maintain a disciplined sales pipeline from first conversation through completed sale.

Customer & Industry Relationships

  • Build trusted relationships with growers, integrators, distributors, contractors, and poultry-industry decision makers.
  • Regularly visit farms and customer facilities and become a dependable resource within the territory.
  • Represent AG Lighting at poultry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and industry gatherings.
  • Listen to customers, understand their operational needs, and help identify practical solutions.

Sales & Project Support

  • Develop opportunities and close profitable business.
  • Work alongside our internal team on quotes, lighting layouts, specifications, product selection, and technical questions.
  • Support projects through planning, installation, and follow-up.
  • Consistently use CRM and internal tools to maintain visibility into opportunities, follow-ups, and account activity.

Who We’re Looking For

We would rather hire someone who understands growers and the poultry industry and teach them our lighting systems than hire an experienced salesperson who has never been inside a poultry house.

Our strongest candidate will likely have:

  • Experience in poultry, agricultural equipment, livestock production, agricultural construction, distribution, integration, or a related industry.
  • Existing relationships and a strong reputation within the poultry/agriculture industry.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred, although capability, relationships, and character matter more than tenure.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a significant regional travel schedule.
  • Strong relationship-building and follow-up skills.
  • The ability to learn technical products and explain them practically to growers and industry professionals.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel weekly.
  • College degree welcome, but not required.

Compensation & Support

Base Salary: $60,000 annually

Commission: 3% on eligible sales with uncapped earning potential

Travel: Company-paid approved business travel

Vehicle: Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, based on final role structure

Technology: Company-provided phone, laptop, and necessary sales tools

Benefits: Company benefits package discussed during the offer process

What Success Looks Like

During the first year, the focus will be on learning the business, earning trust throughout the territory, developing a healthy pipeline, and turning relationships into sustainable revenue. By 12 months, our goal is for this person to be generating approximately $500,000–$750,000 in annual sales, developing a meaningful pipeline for the following year, and establishing AG Lighting as a trusted lighting resource throughout the territory.

Why AG Lighting?

This isn’t simply a territory to maintain. It’s an established portion of our business with significant room to grow. You’ll work directly with company ownership and leadership, have meaningful autonomy, develop long-term industry relationships, and have a voice in how AG Lighting grows the East Coast market.

You won’t be starting from zero. AG Lighting already has established customers, distributor relationships, and a growing presence throughout the East Coast. This role is about building on that foundation—giving our distributors, integrators, growers, and industry partners more consistent local support while identifying new opportunities for growth. We need someone who can be present in the market more often, strengthen the relationships we already have, and develop the ones we haven’t reached yet.
