Volunteer Duties

Volunteer Duties
The Agriculture Advisory Council shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners and County staff. The Council's duties include:
- Attend meetings to conduct business; keep up to date on county issues and circumstances, as well as local, state, and federal topics.
- Provide recommendations on agricultural policies, land use, and regulations consistent with County code and state law.
- Review reports, data, and planning initiatives affecting agriculture and identifying priorities, challenges, and opportunities.
- Serve as a forum for stakeholders and public input on agricultural issues and land use compatibility.
- Support outreach, education, and coordination with agencies and organizations that serve the agricultural community.
- Collaborate to prepare and transmit reports, findings, and recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners and County staff.
- Operate and conduct meetings in accordance with County code and state law.
- All Council members shall be residents of Kitsap County or be active agricultural producers operating in Kitsap County.
- Experience with agriculture production, livestock, and/or agriculture specialty as described in the openings section.
