High School Agriculture Education / FFA Teacher

Position Type: Licensed Secondary CTE Teaching Position

Position Summary:
The district is seeking a qualified High School Agriculture Education teacher to deliver standards-based agricultural instruction and serve as the FFA Chapter Advisor. This position supports student leadership development, career readiness, and hands-on learning aligned with Colorado Career & Technical Education standards.

Responsibilities Include:

• Teach secondary Agriculture Education courses aligned with Colorado CTE standards
• Serve as FFA Chapter Advisor, including leadership development, CDEs/LDEs, and chapter activities
• Supervise and support student Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs)
• Maintain safe, organized classroom, lab, shop, greenhouse, or outdoor learning environments
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and local agricultural partners
• Participate in professional development and required CTE/Perkins reporting

Schedule & Time Commitments:

• 4-day instructional week
• Additional evenings, Monday's, weekends, and limited summer commitments for FFA events and SAE supervision

Qualifications:

• Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) CTE Teaching Authorization in Agriculture
  or ability to obtain appropriate CTE licensure
• Ability and willingness to serve as an FFA Advisor
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills

Preferred:

• Prior experience teaching Agricultural Education and/or advising FFA
• Background in animal science, plant science, agribusiness, or agricultural mechanics
