Description: Historic New England seeks a part-time teacher whose primary responsibility is to team teach school and youth programs in an outdoor setting at Casey Farm. Programs are offered to preschool- through middle school-aged students and emphasize an interactive, hands-on approach to learning history and agricultural education. The part-time teacher is responsible for setting up and breaking down programs as well as interacting with small farm animals such as chickens, rabbits, and ducks. The position offers between 10 and 25 hours of work per week.
Qualifications: A minimum of a B.A. in education, history, agriculture, environmental science, or related field. Experience working with children is required. Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in all responsibilities and activities. Ability to lift, up to 40 lbs. Position involves walking to stations around the farm and moving equipment for program set up and breakdown. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a positive and enthusiastic outlook a plus.
