Job Description

Minimum Job Requirements
- High School or General Education Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Basic level proficiency in MS Office applications (Word & Excel).
- Good handwriting skills
- Ability to use hand tools and testing apparatuses.
- Ability to stand, squat, kneel or bend over for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be self-motivated, able to efficiently work independently while completing scheduled tasks, and/or lead a project team.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with team members, and BLE leadership.
Daily Functions and Duties
- Laboratory sample receipt and processing
- Demolding Cylinders
- Writing Lab ID's
- Reading a tape measure and Calipers
- Using a square and/or straight-edge ruler
- Preparing proctors (Drying dirt in pans)
- Performing basic soil and concrete tests
- Learning how to perform some of the below tests:
- Soil and Aggregate testing
- Triaxial compression
- Direct shear
- Consolidation
- Proctors
- Grain size analysis
- Atterberg limits
- Permeability
- CBR
- Organic contents
- Specificity gravity
- pH
- Resistivity
- Concrete strength testing
