EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or closely related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable). Education must have provided knowledge in plant care, including watering requirements, light exposure, soil pH level, temperature, hardiness zone, space requirements, crop timing, nutrition and/or N-P-K ratio and disease control. Education must have provided knowledge in planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, spacing, pruning, and sanitation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor perennial production within the growing facility and support the growing efforts of perennial production at retail locations.
- Support the development and implementation of perennial plant programs including biological and pesticide programs, product usage and application schedules with detailed frequencies.
- Create a daily task list in support of the weekly production schedule to ensure greenhouse technicians and facility associates complete all tasks as required to maintain the vitality of perennial crops.
- Monitor the daily progress of all perennial areas including spacing and pinching as well as the application of fertilizer.
- Identify and communicate any issues related to plant discrepancies, system issues, or process execution to the Head Grower or General Manager in a timely manner.
- Execute the application of pesticide and fungicide programs as directed by the Head Grower to ensure the maintenance of crop quality.
- Provide training to new and existing horticultural technicians with the perennial growing team on correct growing practices including watering methods, spacing, pinching, temperature control and biological applications.
- Assist the crew members in the execution of all delegated task list items.
- Provide Head Grower and General Manager with weekly progress updates noting and communicating any adjustments to task priority.
- Provide informed annual production recommendations for perennial crops to the General Manager based on historical outcomes and subject matter expertise.
- Review and evaluate staffing needs to offer informed recommendations to the Head Grower to improve and optimize the quality and production of products.
- Attend industry conferences and seminars to improve growing and vitality techniques as well as online research to maintain current knowledge on all industry updates.
- Assist the Operations Manager in the selection and movement of inventory as needed.
