At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $93,400 - $130,800 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors, maintains, and oversees SPC, Food Safety Plans and company programs.
- Responsible for food safety and quality of finished products.
- Establishes, documents, implements, and maintains QC programs and specifications.
- Provides leadership in the development, training, and validation of all quality systems, including all aspects of food safety, food quality and sanitation.
- Mentors, trains, and develops quality control personnel.
- Ensures plant compliance with regulatory, corporate and customer requirements.
- Works with regulatory agencies for site inspections.
- Communicates with the appropriate operations personnel to resolve day-to-day problems.
- Assures the proper handling of products and services when not meeting company and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors the departmental and plant-wide goals to improve quality, maximize efficiencies, and minimize costs.
- Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) programs.
- Assures compliance with all FDA regulatory requirements.
- Leads and implements continuous improvement activities and projects.
- Leads customer and third-party audits, including annual GFSI compliant audit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 3 years of hands-on Quality Assurance and food safety experience in a plant environment.
- Previous supervisory experience over a Food Safety & Quality Team
- Working knowledge of food safety and QA programs.
- Knowledge of GMPs, FDA, FSMA, and SOP requirements.
- PCQI, SQF Practitioner Certification.
- Strong leadership skills or supervisory experience.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

- Continuous Improvement experience, i.e. Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
