The Eastern Nebraska Research Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) is a 10,000 acre facility near Ithaca and Mead, NE, and within 40 minutes of both Omaha and Lincoln metro areas. Farm Operations is responsible for approximately 3,000 acres of row crop production that supports large scale research and provides forage and feedstuffs to the animal science units located on the facility.

Description of Work

As a Farm Laborer (Temporary), you will:
- Provide support to ENREEC operations including disking, field cultivation, chisel plowing, deep tillage, auger cart operation, spraying, irrigation, and soil sampling.
- Assist with maintenance and upkeep of farm shop, ENREEC equipment, ENREEC allocated land and grain handling faciliites when needed.
- Maintain and operate equipment associated with forage operations including alfalfa, brome grass, and arma season grasses.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED plus one year of agricultural experience. Equivalent experience/education considered.
- Working knowledge of farm machinery/equipment operation and application of crop production materials.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Associate's degree in agriculture or related technology.
- Precision agriculture hardware, apps, and methods experience.
- Spreadsheet software experience.
