Job Summary/Basic Function
All duties of the Farm Coordinator are conducted under the supervision and approval of the Farm Director. The Farm Coordinator works with the Tabler Farm Core Team to oversee and manage all aspects of food production and seasonal/temporary labor at Tabler Farm, oversee all non-academic educational activities and actively participates in and supports academic activities at Tabler Farm, and acts as the primary public face of Tabler Farm.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years experience producing vegetables and other produce through field production or greenhouse/high tunnel production
- Experience direct-marketing produce, may include farmers' markets, community supported agriculture (CSA), direct sales, wholesale or other markets.
- Experience overseeing/training farm workers
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years experience producing vegetables and other produce through field production or greenhouse/high tunnel production using organic and sustainable methods
= Ability to plan and implement a growing schedule
- 5 years experience marketing produce and other agricultural products, including via farmers' markets and community supported agriculture (CSA), direct sales, wholesale to restaurants/institutions and other markets.
- Experience with community outreach including social networking, planning and marketing of events
- Expertise in farm management, including record keeping and preparing budgets
- Expertise in sustainable soil, water and pest management
- 5 years experience training students or interns in sustainable agricultural production and marketing tactics
- Ability to operate equipment (tractors, tractor implements, small engine equipment, hand tools, other equipment) including maintenance/repair

Food Production Operations
- Create, maintain, and implement necessary administrative duties for food production with the guidance and assistance of their supervisor
- Under the guidance of their supervisor, the Farm Coordinator must ensure, oversee, and participate in the proper care and maintenance of all food production sites.
- Assist in the food production component in the aquaponics lab.
- Lead crop production operations.
- Manage produce sales and distribution.
Labor/Personnel Coordination
- Oversee all seasonal/temporary labor of Tabler Farm
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, and supervise the following positions: Summer Production Crew seasonal team, Student Federal Work Study positions, High Rocks AmeriCorps service members
Educational Programming
- Manage workshops, seminars, and other public education events.
- Support Shepherd University academic courses related to Tabler Farm.
Other duties as assigned.
