- Design and deliver instruction in agriculture, animal sciences, plant sciences, agribusiness, and related fields.
- Develop lesson plans, curriculum, and assessments that align with state standards and the needs of the students.
- Create a safe and engaging classroom and laboratory environment that promotes learning and encourages student participation.
- Manage and maintain classroom and laboratory equipment, agriculture complex and facilities, supplies, and materials.
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students with varying levels of academic abilities and learning styles.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with developments in the field and teaching practices.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students participating in the FFA program.
- Plan and coordinate FFA activities and events, including field trips, competitions, and community service projects.
- Collaborate with other teachers, school administrators, and community partners to support student success.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences and communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Education, Animal Science, Plant Science, or related field.
- State teaching certification or the ability to obtain certification.
- Strong content knowledge in agriculture, animal sciences, plant sciences, and agribusiness.
- Experience teaching high school students is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of FFA programs and activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and community partners.
