Northeast US-Operations Manager

Location: Remote (preferably in Hartford, CT or Springfield, MA area)

Ag-Grid Energy LLC is seeking a full-time Operations Manager for our Northeast digester and electricity generation (CHP) facility cluster. This position can be remote within the New England area preferably based in Springfield, MA or Hartford, CT with travel to the facilities in CT and MA. In the Northeast Ag-Grid Energy currently has four operational projects. The Northeast sites are located within an hour drive from each other. With multiple sites in operation, we are looking for an operations manager that could support operational oversight across all the sites.

The major responsibilities will include the following:

1.       Create standard operating procedures for on-farm manure & food waste digesters and CHP operations.

2.       Set metrics for performance and establish a process to track them

3.       Manage general, solid waste and air permit compliance

4.       Working with EPC and other vendors, manage digester and engine maintenance schedules and activities, including ordering relevant equipment and supplies.

5.       Coordinate with Food waste manager and provide oversight of incoming food waste (track, sample measurement, data analysis)

6.       Interface with farm operations managers, to leverage analytical capabilities, know-how and resources to develop best practices across all the sites in Massachusetts and Connecticut to optimize day-to-day operations of the digesters and CHP engines.

7.        Expected travel to each on-farm digester sites on a weekly basis, will be paid by company.

8.       Remote monitoring of the digester sites through and communicate any issues to farm partners, supervisors and/or EPC vendors to troubleshoot and resolve.

Minimum Requirements

1.       Associate degree or equivalent hands-on industrial operations experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

2.       Operational experience and track record working in anaerobic digester sites

3.       Knowledge and CHP experience is a plus

4.       Experience and skills in establishing and managing standard operating procedures of operations

5.       Excellent oral, written communication and organizational skills

6.       Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability to resolve day-to-day operational issues.

7.       Ability to self-manage, work in a team environment, and thrive in a fast-paced environment

8.       Should be able to take initiatives, accountability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.

9.       Expect to work 40 hours per week and respond to any process alarms or operational emergencies.
