Position Summary & Key Responsibilities:
Ag Business Solutions is looking for an HR professional who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a collaborative environment where no two days are exactly alike. This position plays a key role across all major HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, and payroll and policy compliance. This position is intentionally designed as a growth opportunity, with the long-term goal of preparing the successful candidate to become our next Human Resources Manager.
· Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, 401k plan, life insurance, disability, and FMLA
· Serve as backup support for payroll processing across multiple companies
· Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information
· Coach managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee development
· Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, background checks, and onboarding
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
· Generate HR reports and analytics
· Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
· Assist with employee events and company communications
· Participate in special HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
· A minimum of five years of progressive Human Resources experience
· Experience with payroll and an HRIS system such as ADP Workforce Now
· Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, HR compliance, and HR best practices
· Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Business acumen with the ability to align HR solutions to organizational goals
· Self-motivated with the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement
· Ability to build trusted relationships at all organizational levels
· Strong judgement, discretion and professionalism in sensitive matters
Preferred Qualifications:
· SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
· Spanish bi-lingual a plus
