Afterschool Enrichment Solutions is seeking dynamic and reliable Coding and Chess Instructors to lead after-school programs for elementary students in the Decatur, IL 62526 area!
Since 2001, we've provided high-quality enrichment classes to thousands of schools and over 30,000 students nationwide.
About the Roles:
Chess - You'll be the spark that helps students discover the fun and strategy of chess! We provide user-friendly lesson plans and all necessary materials to guide you through each class.
Coding - Guide students in designing games, exploring animation and learning the building blocks of coding! All materials and curriculum provided. You don't need to be an expert in coding, just computer savvy; our lesson plans are detailed and easy to follow!
Specific Requirements:
- You must have solid knowledge of chess fundamentals (e.g., piece value, castling, pawn promotion, checkmating patterns); there are no experience requirements for coding other than proficiency in using a computer.
- Experience working with children (ages 6-12) is a plus.
Expectations:
- Must arrive to class at least 15-minutes prior to start
- Payments are issued on a monthly basis, following month of service, i.e. payment for March classes are issued in April, on or before the 21st of the month
- Must communicate behavioral concerns to scheduling manager
- Must clear a background check
- Must complete a W-9, this is a contract position
- All materials needed for class will be available on-site
- Programs are held at an elementary school, after regular school hours
Details:
- Pay: $40-$60 per one-hour class taught.
- Schedule: Classes are one hour in length and run once per week; it is possible to teach more than one class per week, but only possible to teach one class per day as classes that run on the same day are typically running simultaneously.
- Type: This is a contract position (W9). Payments are issued monthly for the previous month's classes.
