AFTERGLOW Aircraft Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Interior Install Technician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the removal, installation, and refurbishment of aircraft interiors while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with aircraft interiors, upholstery, and interior component installation, and takes pride in precision work.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove, install, and re-install aircraft interior components including seats, sidewalls, flooring, panels, monuments, and trim
- Perform general upholstery tasks such as fabric and leather installation, repair, and finishing
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and installation manuals
- Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards
- Inspect interior components for defects, wear, or damage and report findings
- Use proper tools, equipment, and materials to complete installations efficiently and safely
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members, inspectors, and supervisors to meet project timelines
- Accurately document work performed, discrepancies, and corrective actions
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience with aircraft interior installation and/or aviation upholstery preferred
- Familiarity with aircraft interior materials, fasteners, adhesives, and hardware
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically able to lift, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces as required
- Be able to pass FAA/DOT Required pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Adhere to company guidelines, standards, and values
- Self-Motivated, professional, and courteous.
- Perform work in a safe and timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in VIP, corporate, or commercial aircraft interiors
- FAA Airframe certification (A&P) a plus but not required
- Experience with leather, fabric, carpet, and composite interior components
- Knowledge of aviation quality systems and inspection processes
Work Environment
- Hangar and shop environment
- May require standing for extended periods and working in tight or elevated areas
- Use of hand tools, power tools, and specialty aviation equipment
