What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-School 3D Printing Instructor position at After school specials?
We're looking for a creative and enthusiastic 3D Printing Instructor to lead fun, hands-on after-school sessions for elementary and middle school students. This role is perfect for anyone passionate about design, technology, and helping kids bring their ideas to life through 3D printing.
What You'll Do:
- Teach interactive, age-appropriate 3D printing lessons using provided or custom curriculum
- Introduce students to beginner-friendly 3D design software (Tinkercad, Blender, etc.)
- Guide students in creating, refining, and printing their digital designs
- Ensure safe use of 3D printers and materials
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment
- Help with classroom setup, cleanup, and logistics
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic 3D design software and 3D printers
- Experience working with children in educational or enrichment settings
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for STEM/STEAM and hands-on learning
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to the program schedule
Schedule & Compensation:
- Every Monday starting February, 2:30–3:30 PM
- 1–2 hours per week
- $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience
