What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Instructor for After School Program position at After School Life?
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate art lessons for elementary school students (Grades K–5) in a fun, safe, and creative after-school environment.
- Introduce students to various art techniques, styles, and mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
- Foster creativity and self-expression while promoting an appreciation for visual arts and cultural diversity in art.
- Maintain a structured yet flexible classroom environment that supports both individual and group learning.
- Set up and clean up classroom materials before and after each session.
- Monitor student behavior and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
- Communicate effectively with program coordinators, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and any behavioral or safety concerns.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and request materials as needed
Qualifications:
- Have a reliable transportation with valid driver's license
- Prior experience working with children in an educational, camp, or after-school setting (preferred).
- Strong classroom and behavioral management
- Passion for the arts and a desire to inspire young learners.
- Ability to adapt lessons for various skill levels and learning needs.
- Background check clearance required
- Flexible, adaptable with great communication and interpersonal skill
Pay rate: $60/class.
Job Location: Milpitas, Fremont, Palo Alto and vicinity area
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
