What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher/Floater position at After School Alliance of Polk County?
Schedule will be Monday-Friday. The schedule will vary for times through the day, and the location will vary daily as well the floater position is aimed to travel to our schools around the Polk County area, (all schools are within 20 miles of each other). Most Schedules will be 6-8am and then returning for 2:30-6:00pm. Closed for major Holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans
- Support the lead teacher in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment
- Help supervise and engage with children during activities and playtime
- Assist with behavior management and promote positive social interactions
- Assist with classroom management, including maintaining cleanliness and organization
- Provide individualized attention and support to children with special needs or challenges
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and development
- Assist with the preparation of materials, supplies, and snacks for daily activities
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to assist with curriculum development and implementation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children
- Basic understanding of literacy education and math concepts for young learners- 45 Hours through DCF
-CPR/ First Aid
**Level 2 Background is a Plus but will sign you up if needed must pass background before starting postion.
