POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE:                                                             Donor Liaison Intern

JOB CATEGORY:                                           Non-Exempt (Hourly)

STATUS:                                                         Part-Time, 10 – 14 hours per week

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:                            Temporary

DIRECT SUPERVISOR:                                 Director of Leadership Gifts

REGION/UNIT:                                             US/CENTRAL OFFICE      

LOCATION:                                                   Philadelphia, PA, USA     Hybrid (1 day per week in the office)

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Donor Liaison Intern will assist the Leadership Gifts Department in donor outreach, contributing to donor proposals, updates, and pitch sheets, prospect research, data entry, and running reports.

Over the course of the internship, the intern will learn how to engage directly with supporters, write compelling materials, assist with travel planning by identifying donors for visit requests, and analyze donor reports.  They will gain experience in working on a collaborative team and learn about major gift fundraising in the context of a complex global nonprofit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Personally acknowledge gifts from unassigned donors.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Gift Officers (LPOs) to produce written proposals, updates, and pitch sheet for specific donors and wider donor audiences.
  • Assist LPOs with travel planning by running and reviewing donor lists and highlighting potential.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Operates safely in all conditions and follows policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY / MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS
No direct supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: At least one year of experience in development, communications, outreach, or related experience required.
  • Ability to work in the evenings and/or weekends and to travel, as required.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse staff.

 COMPENSATION
The AFSC offers a competitive Total Rewards package.  This position is Non-Exempt Salary Family: Intern, Job Code Intern, Starting Hourly Rate $20.  There are no medical, dental, life insurance benefits, short term or long term insurance benefits with this position.  AFSC does participate in unemployment, worker’s compensation, and social security.
