Afropolitan Cities is a premiere African Entertainment brand & event production company seeking to connect the African Diaspora through unique social and cultural experiences. The company currently operates in 9 US cities and has produced some of the largest and most glamorous cultural events along the east coast to promote African culture and unite professionals in the diaspora. The company’s signature event series is the Afropolitan movement – A monthly Afro-Caribbean mixer where Diaspora professionals in multiple cities in the US gather for a night of connections, culture and cocktails.

The company is currently seeking event hostes who can uphold these values
Event hostes at Afropolitan Cities (AC) are considered to be guest connoisseurs and Afropolitan Cities ambassadors because hostes are responsible for proving excellent reception for AC guests in a manner that leaves a lasting impression about the AC brand.
The core responsibilities include:
1. Performing various activities to seamlessly check-in guests such as
a. Checking-in pre-registered guests using Eventbrite app on phone and/or tablet.
b. Processing cash and credit card transactions on phone and/or tablet
c. Directing and aiding walk-in guests to complete text signup on their phones
d. Performing various activities for express check-in for VIP clients
2. Tracking and recording traffic flow using clickers, Eventbrite app and/or wristbands
3. Providing customer and concierge services to ensure 100% customer satisfaction
4. Attending team meetings, providing feedback and brainstorming with management to develop new solutions to improve check-in process
5. Perform various promotional activities e.g.
a. Guest giveaways
b. Promotional material distribution, etc.
6. Reading all AC mission and core values in addition to event and venue documents in order to prepare for customer inquiries.
Core Qualifications and Job Requirements
1. 21 or older.
2. Has Bachelor’s degree at the minimum
3. Must be able to resolve customer issues and communicate major problems to management.
4. Must demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor.
5. Must possess a service oriented attitude towards all guests and employees.
6. Must be comfortable dealing with a diverse group of people with a variety of needs including complaints and non-cooperative guest in a professional manner.
7. Must be comfortable explaining rules or guidelines to guests.
8. Must be willing to work in the evening.
9. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to teammates and guests, occasionally in a loud environment.
10. Must be tech savvy and quick to adapt to new mobile applications.
11. Must have a cell phone (smart phone) to use on the day of the event.

- If you had to collect customer information at the door but there is a very long line to an event you are hosting, what system would you come up with to ensure you can collect customer information and process admission fees for each customer without customers having to wait in line for more than 5 minutes? How would you track the average time each customer stays in line before check-in ? How would track & measure the average check-in time ?
