Donor Relations Advisor
Position: In office, 35-40 hrs/week
Reports To: Executive Director
SummaryThe Donor Relations Advisor plays a vital role in advancing African Vision of Hope’s mission by connecting compassionate donors to life-changing impact opportunities. As an integral member of the Donor Development Team, this individual is responsible for the growth, cultivation, and retention of our monthly giving partners.
This position blends relationship-building, donor stewardship, and marketing strategy to foster a deep sense of connection between supporters and the children, families, and communities they empower. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, warmth, and strategic vision to help expand the organization’s network of faithful monthly partners.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the recruitment, cultivation, and retention of child sponsors and monthly donors.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase the number of monthly giving partners, with measurable growth goals each quarter.
- Oversee all aspects of monthly donor communications, ensuring an inspiring donor experience that strengthens long-term commitment.
- This role is part of the Development Team, and will work together to integrate monthly giving initiatives with overall fundraising objectives.
- Partner with the communications team to plan compelling campaigns, social media stories, and appeals that drive recurring giving.
- Support donor appreciation initiatives, including thank-you calls, letters, and personalized stewardship touches.
- Maintain accurate and updated sponsor and donor records within the donor management database.
- Manage communications between sponsored children and their sponsors with sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Maintain regular communication with the Zambian team to stay aligned on programs.

- Non-profit experience preferred, not required
- Experience with utilizing a CRM for donor management
