We are seeking a formalProject Managerto join our Data Center team inthe Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX area. Projects will include New Product Development projects from innovation funnel to product launch to market. Duties will require overall direction, execution, control, and completion of projects.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading major strategic projects and may include coaching junior PMs of smaller projects. Team management and execution skills, rather than simply project coordination, are essential. These must be combined with strong interpersonal, influencing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to define and control project scope
  • Assemble a project team and develop their skills, vision, and accountability
  • Plan, execute, and track schedules with input from subject matter experts and team members
  • Create and control project budgets
  • Accept accountability for project execution related to safety, production ramp-up, business systems, process and quality engineering, and supply chain management.
  • Utilize Microsoft Teams for international project collaboration and reporting
  • Provide frequent project status reports to stakeholders and the management team
  • Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field
  • 4 years of experience with formal Project Management methodologies and software tools focused on large product development projects
  • Extensive experience with Predictive or Hybrid PM methodologies
  • Experience with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and New Product Introduction Processes
  • Experience with manufacturing product development and new product introduction
  • Flexible to travel both domestically and internally when needed (approximately 10-15%)

Qualifications Preferred (not required)

  • Experience managing Business Process development projects such as scheduling systems
  • Experience working within an Operational Excellence manufacturing system such as TPM
  • Fiber Optic industry experience, especially in manufacturing or product development
  • Formal training and/or Project Management Certification, such as, Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Project Manager (CPM) nice to have.
