Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their selections, managing sales transactions, and maintaining the presentation of our retail space.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and related products
- Provide expert plant identification and horticultural advice to help customers make informed decisions
- Manage retail sales transactions using POS systems and cash registers accurately and efficiently
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the sales floor, including outdoor display areas
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and product organization
- Support outdoor work activities such as plant care, watering, and landscape maintenance as needed
- Educate customers on proper plant care techniques to enhance their gardening success
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during outdoor work activities
Requirements
- Proven outdoor work experience, preferably in horticulture or gardening environments
- Knowledge of plant identification and horticultural practices
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience with POS systems and cash register operations
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physical ability to perform outdoor tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Prior retail sales experience is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential
