ELEMENTARY TEACHER (ONE YEAR ONLY)

ANTICIPATED START DATE : 7/1/2026

LOCATION: Gotsch Intermediate (3-5)

DETAILS: This is a one year only contracted teaching position for the 2026-27 school year, 9½-month professional position (1.0 FTE) with paid sick and personal leave. District-provided benefits package that includes health, dental, life and vision insurance.

COMPENSATION: Salary for this position is in accordance with the 2026-27 Teacher Salary Schedule . Placement is determined by education and like experience in accordance with board policy.

JOB SUMMARY: The successful candidate will be part of high-energy and enthusiastic teams of professionals, dedicated to meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of students. Successful candidates are reliable, show initiative, are self-motivated, and self-directed. Must be able to work with all students and staff to provide academic, social and behavior support for the school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education
• Appropriate Missouri teaching certification for elementary grade levels (3-5) is required
• Prior teaching experience in a school setting at the elementary level is preferred
• The ability to produce engaging lessons in person and in a virtual setting is required
• The ability to listen well and take initiative to solve problems is required
• Strong organizational skills and self-motivation are required
• The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multicultural student population is required
• The ability to remain flexible and positive with the demands and assignments of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment is required
• The ability to work independently, use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations is required
• The ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact positively with students, staff, administration, and the community is required
• The ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with administration, staff and other professionals is required
The willingness to learn new material and attend professional development, conferences and workshops is required
