Job Description
The New Business Development Representative (NBD Rep) will devote their time to finding new business and enabling sales. The NBD Rep supports AOI’s growth by facilitating meaningful sales interactions between the market, key influencers, and the AOI team. The NBD Rep will drive these interactions through a variety of outreach methods including, but not limited to: email, phone calls, Zoom meetings, in-person meetings at AOI’s Inspiration Center or client sites, LinkedIn outreach, lunch-and-learns, and relevant industry and networking events. This is an in-office position based out of our Brookfield Inspiration Center, where day-to-day business activities will be conducted.
Job Responsibilities
Success in this role is measured by the ability to develop meaningful relationships, generate qualified opportunities, and achieve targeted revenue and gross profit goals while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and industry partners.
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship development.
- Achieve goals through qualified meetings, pipeline development, and client prospect management.
- Research and identify prospective clients, including organizations relocating, expanding, renovating, or establishing new workplaces.
- Manage and maintain an organized sales pipeline within HubSpot and CRM platforms, ensuring accurate activity tracking and follow-up.
- Execute multi-channel outreach strategies through phone, email, social media, virtual meetings, in-person appointments, and networking events.
- Build and nurture relationships with key industry influencers, including architects, designers, contractors, commercial real estate brokers, property managers, and project managers.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade associations, and networking functions to increase market visibility and uncover opportunities.
- Organize and host client-facing events, showroom tours, educational presentations, and lunch-and-learns to promote company capabilities and strengthen relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver an exceptional client experience from initial engagement through project completion.
- Consistently advance prospects through the sales process, from initial contact and discovery to proposal development, project award, and long-term account growth.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or applicable job experience.
· Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
· Articulate and well accustomed to a client facing role
· Willingness to travel as required.
· Efficient planning and effective time utilization skills
· Previous account management experience
· Preferred two to three years of business-to-business sales experience. This role is ideal for someone looking to learn the Commercial Interiors business.
