Responsibilities
- Operate lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power tools to maintain lawns and landscapes efficiently.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and planting bed upkeep to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal plant health.
- Conduct groundskeeping activities such as tree trimming, shrub pruning, hardscape maintenance, and snow plowing during appropriate seasons.
- Identify various plants, flowers, trees, and pests to support effective plant health management and pesticide application when necessary.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling equipment and chemicals to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Assist with landscape installation projects including hardscape features like pathways or retaining walls as needed.
Requirements
- Prior outdoor work experience with grounds maintenance or landscaping preferred; enthusiasm for working outside in all weather conditions.
- Mechanical knowledge of landscape maintenance equipment and groundskeeping tools is essential.
- Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture practices, irrigation systems, and pesticide management is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to safety protocol guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent physical stamina for repetitive tasks such as mowing or digging.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to outdoor work environments and equipment operation.
