Duties
- Measure, cut, and install drywall panels according to project specifications and blueprints
- Secure drywall using appropriate fasteners, ensuring proper alignment and stability
- Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall surfaces to achieve a seamless appearance ready for painting or finishing
- Read schematics and blueprints to determine layout and installation requirements
- Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to coordinate work efficiently on-site
- Assist with related tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, and fixture installation to support overall project completion
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris regularly
Qualifications
- Proven experience in drywall installation or related construction roles with site familiarity
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope
- Skilled in plastering, taping, sanding, and finishing drywall surfaces
- Strong background in carpentry, framing (metal stud framing), and trim carpentry techniques
- Familiarity with construction plumbing, masonry, flooring installation, tile laying, and water damage restoration is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with restoration industry practices such as mold remediation and water damage repair is beneficial
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools (including airless paint sprayers), and other relevant equipment safely
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively across trades
- Physical stamina to stand, lift heavy materials, and work at heights in various weather conditions
