Description:

The Veterans Disability Client Relations Specialist will provide support for paralegals and attorneys to provide consistent communication and quality service to Affleck and Gordon veteran clients and their families who are seeking federal benefits. This person will work directly with clients, third parties, providers, insurance companies, paralegals, and Affleck and Gordon attorneys. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic and excitement for learning about veteran benefits, the claims process, and VA disability ratings. Must be comfortable with computers, operating within case management software, general office tasks, and technology, and excel at verbal and written communication. The role of Case Manager involves a significant amount of fast-paced, independent work with daily and weekly opportunities to meet and collaborate with paralegals and attorneys.

The Client Relations Specialist is often who speaks most frequently with our Veterans and must do so compassionately and with a great level of discretion. In many ways, Client Relations Specialists are the face of our business, and the Veterans we represent appreciate their personalized approach and timely communication.

Responsibilities:

• Speak daily with veterans and their family members to discuss active case progression and next steps. 
• Prepare and maintain confidential case records.
• Organize case documents and keep an accurate timeline of important dates, deadlines, and client communication follow-up. 
• Responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 250-300 cases
• Recognize important deadlines and dates within each case, ensuring time-sensitive tasks are complete
• Primary duties include but are not limited to - communicating with clients regularly; gathering and organizing medical records and other evidence within the case management system to prepare the case for the hearing before Administrative Law Judges; communicating with various government agencies (Social Security/VA).

* Works directly with attorneys to evaluate and prepare disability claims.

Qualification Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Experience in customer service is preferred

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Salary: $55,000.00 - $60,000 per year BOE
