Overview
We are seeking an experienced Billing Coordinator to join our growing Operations Department.
The Billing Coordinator plays a critical role in the settlement and disbursement process by ensuring medical bills, liens, invoices, and settlement proceeds are accurately reviewed, processed, and distributed. This position works closely with attorneys, paralegals, medical case management, medical providers, and clients to facilitate timely settlements while maintaining exceptional accuracy and client service.

Job Type: Full-Time / Onsite
Responsibilities
- Review settlement files to ensure all required documentation has been received.
- Obtain, review, and reconcile medical bills, treatment balances, and provider invoices.
- Coordinate with medical providers regarding outstanding balances and payment information.
- Prepare settlement disbursement packages for attorney review.
- Verify lien information and assist with lien resolution.
- Prepare client settlement statements and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate issuance of settlement checks and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Maintain accurate billing records within the firm's case management system.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding settlement disbursements and payment status.
- Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, medical case management, and accounting to ensure timely and accurate case resolution.
- Assist with trust account documentation and settlement accounting procedures.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies promptly and accurately.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in plaintiff personal injury billing, settlement processing, medical billing, or legal accounting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Experience using CloudLex or other legal case management software preferred.
- Knowledge of attorney trust accounting and settlement disbursement procedures is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Compensation
The base salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based upon experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
