What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Affinity Family Dental?
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take digital x-rays
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments and record medical history
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the front desk as needed
Skills:
- Proficient in patient assessment and providing appropriate care
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Knowledge of dental receptionist duties, including appointment scheduling and insurance verification
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Experience using dental software such as Denticon for record keeping and charting
- Strong dental assisting skills, including taking impressions/digital impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Knowledge of medical terminology and dental anatomy
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients and staff
