We are seeking Community Support Specialists to join our flexible float pool to pick up shifts on weekends and other days and evenings if desired.
Locations: Minneapolis, Bloomington
Pay: $18.00-21.00/hour
*Shift availability: Float Pool Weekends
*Must pick up at least 2 shifts per month
- Day shift: 7am -3pm
- Evening shift: 3pm-11pm
- Night shift: 11pm- 7am
***MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE, INSURANCE AND VEHICLE***

Job Description
As a Community Support Specialist (CSS) at Affinity Care MN, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and live as independently as possible. You will assist with daily living activities, provide companionship, and ensure a safe and supportive environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for compassionate and dedicated individuals who want to make a positive impact in their community.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Support individuals in community activities, social events, and recreational outings.
- Encourage and facilitate skill development and independence in areas such as personal hygiene, communication, and daily living skills.
- Implement and follow individual care plans, behavior management plans, and daily routines.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, including daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for individuals, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Foster positive relationships with individuals, families, and other team members.
- Attend training sessions, team meetings, and other professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in social services, psychology, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience as a DSP, caregiver, or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist individuals as needed.
- Possibility of moving light furniture from unit to unit moves
