Pharmacy Technician

Education: High school or equivalent; Certificate from a pharmacy technician program preferred but not required.

Experience: One (1) year experience as a pharmacy technician.

• Good customer service and teamwork skills.
• Good computer and typing skills.
• Knowledge of filing procedures and activities of Pharmacy service.
• Knowledge of the Pharmacy software system, Windows, Excel.
• Good telephone skills.
• Ability to always maintain a professional attitude and demeanor.
• Good verbal communication skills
• Fluent in Spanish particularly in the areas of Speaking, Reading and Writing is a plus, but not required.
  
  

Residency and Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Pharmacy Technician Certificate preferred, but not required.

Essential Functions

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Fill prescriptions under the pharmacist's direction.
• Rotate stock on a regular basis.
• Effectively work with other clinics to ensure prompt delivery of patients' medications.
• Bottle or otherwise package medication, type labels and allied instructions, assign chronological number to label and prescription forms and affix label to appropriate container.
• Perform maintenance of the pharmacy, such as cleaning storage shelves, stock and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Marginal Functions

• Update books, the Formularies as well as Facts and Comparisons as dictated by the pharmacist.
• Attend staff/agency meetings as required.
