- The X-Ray Tech will cross-train and assist in prepping procedure room and assisting in post-op as needed
- Greet each patient, verify identity at each encounter, explain procedures to be performed, and address patient questions and concerns in a kind and caring manner
- Prepare and position the patient for diagnostic imaging procedures
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control
- Ensure compliance with approved radiology techniques and all company policies and procedures
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed
- Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment
- Maintains supplies, cleans rooms and equipment, and stocks exam rooms.
- Notifies supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Current licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA) Current registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Weekday, Weekend and Holiday work availability
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk for long periods of time
- Potential exposure to potentially infectious materials and chemicals
- BLS/First Aid Certification (Preferred)
