Job Summary
AFC Urgent Care is seeking an experienced and motivated Urgent Care Physician to join our team in a dual role as Medical Director. This position combines hands-on clinical care with medical leadership responsibilities, overseeing a team of 2–4 advanced practice providers (PAs/NPs). The ideal candidate is a patient-centered physician with strong clinical acumen, leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence in the urgent care setting.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced urgent care environment, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a broad range of non-emergent illnesses and injuries.
- Serve as Medical Director for the site, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, quality standards, and compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Supervise, mentor, and support 2–4 mid-level providers, providing guidance on clinical decision-making, patient safety, and professional development.
- Collaborate with practice management and administrative leadership to optimize patient flow, clinical efficiency, and quality outcomes.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, policy development, and staff education.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Foster a team-oriented, collaborative environment that promotes high-quality, compassionate care
Experience
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the State of NJ.
- DEA certification.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Flexible schedule (including some weekends and holidays).
