Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving steel within our yard, ensuring accurate shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your expertise in forklift operation, and shipping logistics will help us meet our delivery commitments and uphold trade compliance standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced operation while developing your skills in inventory management.

Duties

• Operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and organize stock within the yard
• Assist with material requests and staging to ensure timely delivery of customer orders
• Conduct quality checks during inbound and outbound shipments to prevent errors and damages
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace by adhering to safety protocols related to forklift operation and safety procedures

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating forklifts
• Experience within the steel industry
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Must be able to identify steel shape and size
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
