We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Purchasing Agent with hands-on experience using JobBOSS or ERP software. This role is responsible for supporting the purchasing department in sourcing materials, managing purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a keen eye for accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Create, issue, and track purchase orders in JobBOSS.
Source materials, components, and supplies to meet production and project needs.
Maintain vendor relationships and communicate effectively to resolve issues such as delays, quality issues, shortages, or pricing discrepancies.
Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions of contracts, sales, and warranties with vendors and/or suppliers.
Analyze trends and market conditions for present and future pricing opportunities.
Establish and maintain accurate Bills of Material.
Assist in negotiating pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent stockouts.
Collaborate with production, scheduling, and engineering teams to ensure materials align with project timelines.
Review and verify invoices, packing slips, and receipts for accuracy.
Maintain purchasing records and ensure data accuracy in JobBOSS ERP system.
Support cost-reduction initiatives and vendor performance evaluations.
Provide general administrative support to the purchasing team as needed.
Qualifications
2--3 years of purchasing or procurement experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
Proficiency with JobBOSS orERP software required.
Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite, especially Excel).
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for working with internal teams and vendors.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
General knowledge of logistics.
Preferred Skills
Basic knowledge of supply chain processes, vendor sourcing, and cost analysis.
Familiarity with manufacturing or job shop environments.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings or specifications.
