Accountant
Summary:
The Accountant for AFC Industries will be responsible for handling month-end close, reconciliations, general reporting, and assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable if/when needed. The position will report to the Controller. This is a growing business with great opportunities for career advancement. Opportunity for Hybrid work schedule after initial training period.
Description:
- Timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process in accordance with GAAP, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
- Assist with the annual audit by providing required information and responding to requests from the auditors.
- Focus on continuous improvement of the accounting processes.
- Assist with daily/weekly reporting.
- File sales tax returns as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need:
Education:
Bachelor's' Degree in Accounting
Required Work Experience/skills:
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting work experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing, or another high-volume transaction environment
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and meet tight deadlines when necessary.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good inter-personal skills and collaborative approach
- Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Targeted Salary $60-70K
