The Purchasing Manager is instrumental in strengthening supply chain efficiency and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and supplies vital to our manufacturing operations. This role collaborates closely with vendors, internal teams, and production staff to align purchasing activities with organizational objectives, achieve cost savings, and enhance supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals and operational needs
· Review, approve, and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and supplies
· Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and service levels
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, supplier performance, and order status
· Partner with production, planning, and quality teams to forecast demand and proactively mitigate supply risks
· Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers through market research and qualification processes
· Monitor inventory levels, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
· Resolve discrepancies related to shipments, invoices, and order fulfillment in a timely manner
· Provide guidance and mentorship to junior purchasing team members
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, efficiency, and supplier performance
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing environment
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems
· Strong understanding of supply chain principles and procurement best practices
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, material specifications, and pricing indices
· Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
· Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external partners including suppliers and sales representatives
· Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
· Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform manual tasks as required
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
