Key Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Replenishment
- Analyze historical sales, demand trends, seasonality, and forecasts to determine replenishment requirements.
- Create, release, and manage purchase orders based on inventory targets, lead times, and forecasted demand.
- Monitor open purchase orders and proactively address changes in demand, supply delays, or capacity constraints.
- Optimize order quantities and timing to balance service levels, inventory turns, and cash flow.
- Analyze inventory positions across all distribution centers and 3PL locations to identify transfer opportunities.
- Create and manage inventory transfer orders to rebalance inventory across the network.
- Coordinate with warehouse, transportation, and 3PL teams to execute transfers efficiently.
- Track transfer performance and resolve variances or delays.
Inventory Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Monitor key inventory metrics including days on hand, inventory turns, fill rates, and aging inventory.
- Identify and escalate risks related to stockouts, excess inventory, slow-moving items, and expiration.
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to improve inventory availability and efficiency.
- Support ongoing forecasting and demand planning activities through data analysis.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between ERP systems, warehouses, and 3PL partners.
- Perform root cause analysis related to receiving, shipping, transfers, and system transactions.
- Process inventory adjustments in the ERP system following established controls.
- Perform and support physical inventory counts and cycle counts at the headquarters warehouse.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Projects
- Partner with Purchasing, Operations, Sales, Finance, and Warehouse teams to align inventory plans with business needs.
- Participate in cross-functional supply chain projects rather than operating in silos.
- Support network changes, including new distribution centers, 3PL transitions, or process improvements.
- Communicate inventory risks, trends, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Adaptability
- Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, replenishment logic, and transfer planning.
- Support enhancements to ERP systems, reporting tools, and inventory planning processes.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities, demand variability, and operational challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in inventory planning, replenishment, or supply chain analytics.
- Experience in the food industry.
- Strong experience using ERP systems to create purchase orders and inventory transfer orders.
- Experience managing inventory across multiple distribution centers and/or 3PL partners.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, lookups); experience with inventory reporting and analysis.

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Deep understanding of food supply chain dynamics, including shelf life, rotation, and perishability.
- Ability to translate data into actionable replenishment and transfer decisions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- High attention to detail and ownership of inventory accuracy.
- Flexible and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
