What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at AFC Companies?
Driver Success Manager | Tampa, FL (In office) | $60K to $74K base
About AFC
At AFC, you're a name, not a number. We're a family-owned, women-owned transportation and logistics company headquartered in Tampa, FL, moving freight nationwide through our asset and brokerage operations. We're growing fast and building our own AI-powered operating platform, not just buying tools. We promote from within, and our leadership knows your name. If you want to build something, not just fill a seat, you'll fit in here.
The role
You'll be the go-to contact for a group of AFC's independent-contractor driver partners, from their first dispatch onward. You'll report to the Director of Driver Success & Retention. Success means every driver gets a same-day callback, a real answer, and a reason to stay.
What you'll do
- Own the relationship with your driver portfolio and return every call the same business day
- Run documented 30/60/90-day check-ins with new drivers
- Take driver concerns from the first call to resolution and keep drivers updated
- Coordinate home-time requests with Dispatch
- Explain settlement status and route disputes to the right specialist
- Spot at-risk drivers early and lead retention conversations
What you bring
- 2 years in a driver-facing, customer success, or account management role
- Calm, clear phone skills, including difficult conversations
- Follow-through that closes every loop
- Comfort working across multiple systems and keeping accurate notes
Nice to have
- Experience with independent-contractor (1099) driver programs
- McLeod, Samsara, or similar TMS/telematics tools
- Working knowledge of settlements or HOS
What you get
- Competitive base pay of $60K to $74K
- Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k), with coverage starting the first of the month after 60 days
- 80 hours of PTO per year
- Weekly pay
- A clear path to grow, with leaders who know your name
Where you'll work
Tampa HQ, 1120 E Kennedy Blvd 5 days in office.
Our process
A phone screen with People & Talent, a short Predictive Index assessment, an interview with the hiring manager, and a final conversation with leadership.
