Compensation:
- Base Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Commission Eligibility: Limited incentive-based bonuses tied to activity, learning milestones, and team goals during the development phase. These bonuses are tied to sales programs and contests and may not be available year-round.
- Growth Path: Upon meeting defined performance benchmarks and readiness criteria, the role may transition into a full Salesperson position. As your earned commissions consistently exceed the value of your salary guarantee, the position transitions to a 100% commission compensation model. This structure is designed to reward strong producers by removing income caps and maximizing earning potential.
- Earning Potential: Advancement into a full Salesperson role offers long-term earning potential of $125,000–$250,000 annually based on performance.
Territory & Work Location: Assigned to support a defined multifamily territory with the assistance of a senior salesperson. Work is primarily conducted on the road, visiting properties and customers. Must live within reasonable proximity to the assigned territory. Driving is an essential job function.
Basic Function: The Junior Salesperson is an entry-level, customer-focused sales development role centered on maintaining, strengthening, and reactivating customer relationships within a defined multifamily territory. This position is ideal for individuals with limited sales or industry experience who demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, organization, and a genuine desire to deliver exceptional customer service. Over time, the Junior Salesperson will progress toward increased sales responsibility and independence, with a clear pathway into a full Salesperson role.
Core Competencies: This role emphasizes relationship management, customer retention, and account reactivation while building foundational sales skills under the guidance of senior sales leadership.
Primary Role & Responsibilities:
Individual Sales & Gross Margin Development
- Develop and implement strategies, with guidance from sales leadership, to achieve individual sales and gross margin goals.
- Understand performance metrics, review results regularly, and adjust tactics to meet or exceed expectations.
- Learn to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities that align with customer needs and company objectives.
Individual Account Management & Customer Relations
- Visit existing customers regularly to ensure they are receiving outstanding service and to address any concerns or feedback.
- Partner with senior salesperson to support customer needs.
- Engage with previous or inactive customers to understand their needs and work toward reactivating them as active clients.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact, ensuring customers feel valued, supported, and appreciated.
- Proactively identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling products and services that meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of customer interactions, activity, and feedback in the CRM.
Scheduling Support & Internal Coordination
- Collaborate with customers to align measurements, deliveries, and installations with desired timelines.
- Communicate schedule changes promptly and clearly to internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with operations, scheduling, and leadership to resolve customer concerns efficiently
Individual Marketing & Prospecting Activities
- Utilize internal marketing tools to keep customers informed about products, services, and promotions.
- Participate in property visits, follow-ups, and prospecting activities within the assigned territory.
- Learn how to analyze marketing and activity data to refine outreach efforts and improve effectiveness over time.
Template Creation, CRM & Documentation Accuracy
- Create clear and accurate templates to streamline the ordering process and enhance internal team understanding.
- Maintain templates to ensure they are current, user-friendly, and aligned with company branding and standards.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of customer interactions, feedback, and activity to support reporting and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer relations, service, sales, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Customer-first mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and follow-ups.
- Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative to address customer concerns.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Coachable attitude with a willingness to learn the flooring industry, sales process, and AFB systems.
Physical/Sensory Requirements:
- Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently.
- The employee is required to use hands and fingers for tasks and occasionally stand, walk, stoop and reach.
- Noise levels may vary from moderate to noisy.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects as part of the duties.
