ABOUT THE ROLE:The Sr. Cost Accountant is a hands-on experienced finance professional who directly executes all accounting and financial management activities within the manufacturing environment. This role goes beyond advisory functions to actively manage the logistical and stock management aspects, personally ensure accurate cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and the financial reporting process. The Sr. Cost Accountant works directly alongside plant leadership, taking ownership of financial performance and operations efficiency while providing the financial insights that drive the day-to-day decision making.
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes for manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and KPIs.
- Align with both Regional and Global Finance teams in financial management and accounting developments
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, corporate guidelines and maintain robust internal controls.
- Maintain and improve standard costing systems.
- Analyze production costs, material usage, stock levels, labor efficiency, and overhead allocation.
- Monitor inventory valuation and perform cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with operations and finance teams.
- Track performance against budget and provide actionable insights.
- Support capital investment analysis and ROI evaluations.
- Lead financial aspects of lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain strong internal control environment.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing finance or cost accounting.
- High proficiency with ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4 Hana cloud).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Knowledge of US regulatory and tax environment
- Occasionally required to stand.
