Promote and develop testing tools and frameworks Review and analyze business and technical requirements, workflows and functional requirements with minimal oversight to develop, execute, maintain test scenarios, test cases, and test data to ensure business requirements are met and adequate test coverage is achieved. This position is at the “expert” level for both Manual Software Quality Assurance testing Software Quality Assurance Automation testing. Coordinate testing activities and collaborate with business users to ensure understanding of systems or new features and assist with developing training as needed. Develop and implement quality standards, providing guidance across the QA department through continuous improvement. Serve in the role of system initiative tester to ensure all requirements are performing as expected. This includes conversion, functional and integration requirements as well as utilizing queries to analyze and verify data. Identify software defects and collaborate with developers to achieve defect resolution. Communicate with stakeholders and business users regarding system function and testing efforts/status. Identify QA Automation opportunities and usher them through the process of getting automated with the QA Automation Engineers. Make business decisions to move forward with software releases that significantly impact the organization based on the testing performed. Provide specialized knowledge through role as System Subject Matter Expert, collaborate with business users and Business Analysts to assist in identifying and documenting requirements, acceptance criteria and Rules Definitions. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s Degree From Four-Year College or University Business Administration, IT, Project Management, or Quality Assurance areas of study preferred If commensurate experience is acceptable in lieu of specific education requirement, please describe: Commensurate work experience will be considered in lieu of college degree Technical Skills & Requirements Expert in Manual Software Quality Assurance testing Expert in Software Quality Assurance Automation testing Strong insurance product knowledge and/or annuity contracts. Strong knowledge of business administrative processes. Strong working knowledge of end to end functional and integrative testing across multiple systems. Strong teamwork environment skills and multi-tasking experience with strong organizational skills. Proficiency with PC Windows-based software Microsoft Office applications with strong emphasis on Word and Excel. Thorough knowledge of software testing best practices. Basic knowledge of defect tracking and tracking systems (JIRA, Azure Dev Ops) Strong logical and analytical aptitude, strong reasoning ability and presentation skills Inquisitive and proactive with an ability to work independently. Takes initiative and is a solution seeker and result oriented. Strong written, and oral communication as well as active listening skills with a customer focused attitude. Strong analysis and interpretation skills and detail oriented. Excellent math skills for verification and interpretation of business processes and system calculations Working knowledge of writing business rules and development of rules definition document. Verify feature interactions to ensure operation of any given function doesn’t affect others unless intended. Proficient in the understanding of mobile device functionality. Working knowledge of testing across integrated environments and systems. Excellent spelling and grammar skills. Ability to learn software applications. Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodology and of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Participation in LOMA/HIAA or other job specific training. Ability to correspond and collaborate with software developers, engineers, architects and business stakeholders Understanding of the principles of system design and development processes. Above average score required on pre-employment analytical tests. Experience with utilizing Risk Analysis techniques to provide accurate and precise estimates for assigned task duration, along with confidence level and forseeable dependencies.
