The primary purpose of this position is to Serve as Vehicle Management Flight Chief; exercises supervision/management responsibilities for budgetary requirements/sustainment, manpower management, vehicle operating procedures, Preventative Maintenance Analysis and deficiency repair actions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in independently planning, organizing and overseeing the activities of an organization; assisting with developing goals and objectives that integrate organization and logistics objectives; ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Ideal Candidate: Candidate has 5 or more years in vehicle mechanics experience, extensive expertise in fleet operations, and maintenance regulation expertise. At least one year in a supervisory role, with the ability to work in a high-stress, fast-changing environment. Strong organizational skills and inventory management desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment.
2. Knowledge of safety regulations , practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications .
4. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
5. Ability to manage overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions and implement sound personnel policies, practices, and procedures through one or more levels of subordinate supervisors.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
