We are looking for an ambitious and hardworking individual responsible for all functions related to the shipping and receiving duties. Warehouse Associates will prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area for pickup. This position will receive and process all merchandise entering and leaving the building as well as the upkeep of merchandise within the store and maintaining the stockroom. We have a fun work environment but require speed and accuracy. We offer a position with growth opportunities, along with full medical, dental and vision benefits, as well as 401(k) plan options available.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in inventory processReceive and unload merchandise from trucksOrganize and catalogue large batches of similar itemsBuild and wrap pallets for secure shipment with freightProcess damages, transfers, and return to vendor merchandisePack and ship items securely and effectively to minimize breakageParticipate in stockroom maintenance, organization, and housekeepingVerify documents and reports in accordance to the unloaded merchandise.Follows shortage programs and procedures as they pertain to the receiving functionCollect cardboard boxes and trash and discard in the appropriate compacting receptacleUnpack merchandise from vendor boxes and remove merchandise from plastic bags and packagingMaintain excellent service by following organization standards of quality, and national standards of shipping and receiving best-practicesEnsure a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, packing area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Required Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED preferredExcellent packing skillsStrong computer skillsPossesses strong communication and people skillsPrevious warehouse experience, such as knowledge in packaging and shipping standards.This position requires heavy lifting, and constant moving and standing, must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
